Two Decades of Life, Hope & Humanity

20 Years of Hope: A Legacy of Life-Saving Organ Donation

There is always one person who lays down the very first brick to build a new initiative. For Donate Life, Nilesh Mandlewala was that person

From being a successful businessman to serving society, Nilesh Mandlewala's journey is truly inspiring. His life took a transformative turn when his father, who was suffering from kidney disease, than onwards since 2004 his father had to compulsorily go through dialysis twice a week. He saw the pain of his father and realized that lakhs of patients died every year due to non-availability of organs in our country.

In 2005 when organ donation awareness was limited, he decided to channel his grief into a purpose, dedicating his life to spreading awareness about organ donation and making a difference in the lives of others.

Nilesh Mandlewala started organ donation movement after his father is suffering from end stage kidney disease, but he never asked registered his father’s name for a kidney transplant or never seeking a kidney for his father out of the kidney donation from his activity of organ donation. His father underwent more than 750 dialysis sessions and passed away on September 6, 2011.
